    For whom

C15:0, the ingredient in fatty15, is GRAS (generally regarded as safe) certified, which means fatty15 is safe for children age 4+, pregnant women, nursing moms, and pretty much everyone except for infants and toddlers.

Our bodies tend to build up until we are about 30 years old. After 30, our bodies start to break down due to increasingly fragile cells, less efficient mitochondria, and imbalanced immunity and metabolism. By our 40s, these changes can result in chronic health conditions, along with more pills to address them. As we age from 65 on up, we can become increasingly fragile and fatigued.

So, taking fatty15 when you're younger may help keep your healthy body healthy.when you're 30 to 65, it can make your body more resilient against aging-related breakdown...and when you're older than 65, it can work to restore some of that resilience and energy.*

Fatty15 has 36+ activities that support metabolic, liver, red blood cell and cognitive health.

    • Metabolic Health

Fatty15 can support healthy glucose levels by activating AMPK and AKT, which improve insulin sensitivity and glucose handling by cells.*

    • Cognitive Health

Fatty15 has core activities that support healthy dopamine levels and promote cognitive health.

    • Red Blood Cell Health

Fatty15 strengthens red blood cells against premature breakdown.*

    • Liver Health

Fatty15 activates PPARs to support healthy liver function.*

"As for the future, Venn-Watson and her team had discovered about 100 molecules naturally present in the serum of both dolphins and humans, that looked like they could protect against the onset of aging-related diseases, so it is very possible we will see more to come from her team. But presently, this discovery of a new [essentiall fatty acid is incredibly remarkable."

      • Christopher Doering

“Known as pentadecanoic acid, or C15:0, the dietary saturated fat found in milk, butter, fish, plants and other foods was shown in studies to demonstrate broad health benefits. lt would join omega-3 and omega-6 as the only fatty acids considered by nutrition scientists as essential.”

      • Karen Raterman

“This discovery [by Seraphina Therapeutics] may elevate C15:0 to the ranks of now hallowed essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 as well as usher in a new dialogue on changing the global guidelines for intake of dietary saturated fatty acids.”

      • Steve Atkinson

"For decades there has been a war on fats such as butter, whole milk, and cheese. But for the first time in 90 years, a San Diego company made an amazing discovery of a new fat, present in butter, and one your body desperately needs.

      • Ariana Eunjung Cha

“Found in certain fish and plants, as well as milk and butter, [C15:0] is believed to improve immune function and strengthen hearthealth. Some experts hail the substance as even having anti-aging properties.”

      • Monica Haider

“What began as a passion for working with animals has resulted in an entrepreneurial journey of taking the science from the bay to the lab...and developing a product that people can take to improve health on a cellular level”

      • Jessica Rendall

"When Dr. Stephanie Venn-Watson started studying dolphins at the US Navy's marine mammal program, she wasn't expecting to turn the food pyramid on its head.

      • “The company has not only taken on the mantle of bringing a completely novel nutrient to market, but a larger ambition of correcting a major nutrient deficiency.

        A tale of two pods.

        The California Pod

        More dolphins with aging-related conditions.

        The Florida Pod

        Fewer dolphins with aging-related conditions

        And those aging-related conditions?

They're the precursors to diabetes, heart disease and stroke in humans.

        So what was the difference?

The Florida pod ate different fish than their California friends.
Fish with higher levels of fatty acid C15:0 (aka FA15").
When the California pod switched to fish with higher levels of C15:0 (aka FA15"), their aging-related conditions stabilized and their cells stabilized, too.

        From fragile to sturdy.

After including more C15:0 (aka FA15) in the California pod's diet, we saw a 72% improvement in cellular stability. See the study.

          FAQS

          What is C15:0?

C15:0 (pentadecanoic acid) is a healthy odd-chain saturated fatty acid. Fatty15's co-founder, Dr. Steph Venn-Watson, discovered that C15:0 is not only a good fat, but that C15:0 meets the rare criteria of being the first essential fatty acid to be discovered since omega-3, which was over 90 years ago.
In extensive peer-reviewed studies, C15:0 has been shown to support metabolic, heart, liver and immune health, as well as naturally activate receptors in our bodies that deepen sleep, reduce anxiety, and improve joint comfort.
Essential fatty acids are nutrients that our bodies need to maintain baseline health but can't make. That means we must get these essential fats from our diet or supplements. Today, there are three known essential fatty acids: alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3), linoleic acid (an omega-6), and now, C15:0. Because C15:0 has been shown to have 3x more cellular benefits than omega-3, C15:0 is emerging as the essential, essential fatty acid.*

          Can't l just get C15:0 from food?

Our primary food-based source of C15:0 is whole fat cow's milk, which contains trace amounts of C15:0. Dairy fat, however, contains much higher levels of pro-inflammatory even-chain saturated fatty acids (C16:0), as well as a wallop of calories. Food-based C15:0 is also tied up in complex lipids called triacylglycerides that make C15:0 less bioavailable. We developed fatty15 to help consumers get >99.5% pure C15:0 in a vegan-friendly, science-backed and readily bioavailable form. No cows or calories needed.

How does fatty15 compare to omega-3?

Fatty15 (C15:0) is an odd-chain saturated fatty acid, while omega-3s are polyunsaturated fatty acids. While both are beneficial fats that support healthy immune responses, they also have very different roles. For example, fatty15 is a sturdy fat that strengthens our cell membranes and protects them against age-driving lipid peroxidation. In contrast, omega-3s are less stable fats that make our cell membranes flexible but more susceptible to oxidation, especially as we age. The bottom line: Our bodies use both C15:0 and omega-3s to stay healthy, and they can and should compliment each other. The upsides of fatty15 with pure C15:0? Tiny pills with no smell, no taste, and no burps. Better yet, when testedhead-to-head against pure EPA, fatty15 had 3x more cellular benefits relevant to our immune, metabolic, heart, and liver health. We recommend working with your healthcare provider to determine what supplement stack is best for you.

How does fatty15 protect my liver?

Fatty15 is an award-winning and science-backed C15:0 supplement that supports your long-term health, including your liver health, at the cellular level. Numerous studies have shown that both adults and children with higher C15:0 levels have better liver health. Beyond association, fatty15 has been shown to directly protect the liver in relevant models. Specifically, fatty15 is a PPAR agonist that promotes liver health by improving the resilience of cell membranes, calming immune responses, and slowing the production of unhealthy liver tissue.*

How does fatty15 help rebalance metabolism?

Today, more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific studies have linked C15:0 (aka, pentadecanoic acid) to better metabolic, heart, immune and liver health. Our>99.5% pure, vegan-friendly C15:0 fatty acid in fatty15 rebalances our metabolism naturallyby 1) activating PPAR-alpha and delta receptors, the master orchestrators of our metabolism, 2) activating AMPK pathways, which regulate glucose, 3) repairing mitochondria and enabling our cells to generate energy. Heck, that's a bunch of much-needed benefits to help keep our metabolism balanced.*

Can l test and measure my C15:0 levels?

Yes! We've teamed up with Genova Diagnostics to offer the Fatty15 C15:0 Test, which measures your C15:0 levels. This test helps you assess whether you have a C15:0 nutritional deficiency or at sub-optimal C15:0 levels.
